Temperatures in the eighties the past two days. Last night a light rain and it cooled down a little.
We had a good time at Long Pine Key campground in Everglades N.P. and took a guided hike in the great swamp. We wore shoes that we could get wet and walked through the wetlands and into a cypress hammock where we were in water to our knees. We walked into an alligator hole and saw the six foot alligator that inhabited the area. Great fun!
Today we are exploring the Big Cypress area and walked through the Clyde Butcher Gallery where Clyde displays his famous black and white Everglades pictures. They are awesome!
We also visited the park headquarters and saw all of the fish and alligators along the boardwalk. Great stuff!
We are here until Saturday and then we head west to Oscar Shearer State Park on the Gulf near Sarasota. Stay tuned!
