Tuesday at Roper Lake State Park

We made the short move to Roper Lake today. We were on the road for just over two hours and part of that was because of a construction slow down and stop and go on US10. This is a small state park, with a forty acre lake and a natural hot tub that is at a constant 97 degrees!
We rode bikes around the park and checked out all of the facilities. We saw a truck from Page Springs Fish Hatchery dumping rainbow trout into the lake. They were so confused they kept swimming onto the shore, and we had to keep throwing them back in!
I'm feeling much better today, and we are looking forward to some exploring in the area tomorrow.

Yellow Headed Blackbirds...I've never seen these before, but they are everywhere here. They are attracted by the cattails in the lake.

Eurasian Collared Doves. They look like lovebirds!

Did I mention that the blackbirds were everywhere?

Watching the sky light up over the lake at sunset.

And then it got better!
Peace and love to all!
