On Wednesday we flew back to the "mainland" and spent the night in Phoenix. On Thursday we picked the camper up from storage in Casa Grande and drove to Organ Pipe National Monument. We've been here for two nights now and are enjoying the hiking and ranger programs.
The Mexico border is two miles away and the town of Rocky Point on the Sea of Cortez beckons us although I don't think we will go.
Last days in Hawaii. Hiking trail across the lava fields to the shore.
Another black sand beach along the coast.
At the shore the trail was chunks of coral.
At the beach the green sea turtles were climbing ashore and taking their siesta.
\Mai Tais at Don the Beachcomber at the resort.
The last sunset in Hawaii
Back on the Mainland in Arizona. Sunset in the desert at Organ Pipe N.P.
This is an organ pipe cactus.
Giant saguaro cactus
Gila woodpecker.
Gamble's quial in the campground.
Cactus Wren. It makes my feet hurt just to watch him!
The hiking trail to Victoria Mine. An old abandoned copper mine two miles into the desert from the campground.
