We set up camp in Pensacola Beach, Florida, on Friday. We are in Fort Pickens National Park Campground on a barrier island off of Pensacola. The weather is great, sunny skies and seventy degrees. The beaches here are pure white sand and with the blue skies and ocean the scenery is awesome. We are going to explore here for a few days and enjoy being away from the cold. Here are a few pictures we took on Friday.
This was our welcoming committee at the campground. Possum on the halfshell anyone?
That's not snow, people. Pure white gulf shore sand.
The seagulls and pelicans were having a feeding frenzy offshore.
The barrier island was a narrow strip of land but with many different characteristics.
The day was slipping away. We went down to the beach to watch the sun set.
The end of another wonderful day.
