Our Wednesday in Hana

Another day of exploring and sightseeing. We drove through town and southwest into the seaside of  Haleakala National Park. We parked at a visitor center and hiked two miles up the mountainside and through an immense forest of bamboo to reach the most beautiful waterfall we have seen yet. Later we explored the lower reaches of the same river and swam in the low falls and pools  that were just above ocean level.
We also found a great beach on the way back to town.

These wer the highest falls we've seen on Maui so far.

The trail to the falls went through a huge bamboo forest.

The bamboo covered many acres of the mountainside here.

Enjoying one of the pools below the lower falls.

Looking uphill at the river towards the Hana highway over the bridge.

The river mouth into the sea.

Looking down from the bridge.

We stopped at this beach on our way back to town. It went from sunny to drizzly three times while we were here.

A Maui morning. Hope your day is good!
