We had another beautiful start to the day today. Sunny skies and it got to about 60. We packed the bikes into the back of the truck this morning and rode to the entrance of the park. We parked there and unloaded the bikes and rode into beautiful downtown St George. The downtown has a lighthouse and keepers station, the tourist information center and about a two block area of businesses such as gift shops, a liquor store, real estate offices, and some groceries and gas. Lots of beach rental homes and some resorts. We continued on to the west end of the island where it is a private resort area. This is the epitome of a sea shore vacation destination. We enjoyed this bike ride and eventually made it back to camp for lunch.
What can I say. Another hike down to the beach, back to camp and then another bike ride to the east end of the island. We collected shells for about an hour then rode back to camp to start a campfire and light the charcoal to grille steaks for a birthday feast. Life is good.
We liken this time to being in high school and being on summer vacation. No cares, no stress, and just enjoying the day to day!! I know that we will come back to reality and the stresses and worries, but we are really enjoying this break.
Nancy talked to all the kids today as they checked in with their birthday greetings. It was wonderful to hear from everyone and to hear the grand kids singing Happy birthday over the phone. We do miss being with the kids and grand kids, but when we hear of the cold temps and snow storms at home we are glad to be away.
Our signal is still poor here so photos will follow when we get to the mainland but I promise to catch up.
Love to all until next time.....

The island gift shop. Anything you need for the beach!
Bachside condos. Most of the housing was single family beach houses but some resorts were mixed in. All building was restricted to three stories, keeping the high rise resorts out.
